Sabio Fencing Academy’s Hayden Cheong delivered an outstanding performance at the May SJCC, earning 3rd place out of 114 fencers in Junior Men’s Saber 🥉🔥
Entering the event as the #2 seed, Hayden dominated the pool round with a perfect record, showcasing control and consistency with decisive victories. He carried that momentum into direct eliminations, battling through a highly competitive field that included multiple A-rated opponents.
In the tableau, Hayden secured strong wins over Lucas Zhao (15–12), Jacob Meyerson (15–8), and Maksymilian Skarbonkiewicz (15–11), before delivering a commanding 15–7 victory in the quarterfinals. His run ultimately ended in a hard-fought semifinal bout against Jeein Joo.
Finishing on the podium in a deep national field, Hayden’s result highlights his continued growth and ability to perform under pressure at the highest level 💪
